It Stopped By Our Hearts

Once
among those golden rays and hope
we sailed our dreams to unknown destination
giving us the thrills and put us in full anticipation
of what it held for us and that unknown place be our haven
little did we know what we hoped for were mere dreams
that stopped by our hearts once, then gone before the sun rose
leaving us gasping in the debris of hope
and we looked into the emptiness
till it was gone to
nowhere

Limerick

A young man fought with all his might,
To win a girl's heart was his target,
Another person won her attention,
A big, fat pocket was her mission,
So sad, the man walked out of the fight.

In Between Us

Image

in between us
there are seas
I couldn't swim across
but the bridge of friendship
keeps us close

in between us
time and seasons change
nevertheless we are the same
travelling abreast in time
singing the same rhymes

in between us
our thoughts sometimes differ
yet each day we understand better
of who you and I are
the bond of friendship grows stronger

each day a flower blooms,
the world becomes beautiful,
birds sing, butterflies dance,
buzzing bees tell honey is near-by,
even in the swift flow of the stream,
there are songs so sentimental,
only the one listening with the heart,
will feel the beauty of its flow,
and will know what life's secret is.

Another Sunday

There is a soft glow of yellow rays streaking through the curtains of my room and land on the table and floor like a faint gold dust. During weekends, I am able to face the early rays because my table is facing the windows towards sun rise. And on it are my laptop, magazines, books and other stationary. Whenever I write early in the morning, the view from my room gives me some positive vibes as I am facing the sun which I used to say welcoming me to another new day. What adds beauty to it are the sounds of chirping birds singing their songs among the trees near-by. And there are hills that look majestic with palm trees interspersed among other trees. I hope that fresh, beautiful view will stay for a long time as they are on private ground.

Another Sunday..I thought of pampering myself by waking up late but my eyes seem to have been programmed to be up early! I witnessed a lot since then. In the stillness of dawn,  trees seemed standing still before welcoming the early breeze, flowers dotted with dew and looked so fresh and fragrant, the stars still twinkling before the sun appeared. The birds must be still dreaming before singing their first song of the day.

It is typical of me to go out to the balcony, take a deep breath of  fresh air and never miss a moment to  look up at the sky and watch those tiny diamonds and the moon's  face. Then, I look far away at the horizon, always thinking of what goes on at the other side of the world. My mind flies to my sister and friends. If only the world is flat, then we'll have the same day and night.

And she called again last night. She said she had just taken in the clothes from the drying line, while at the same time I was about to hit the sack. She is enjoying summer which will end soon, while I am having rain and shine throughout the year. Much to talk about, that's my sister who always calls from a far away land and each call lasts for about half an hour. That is when we catch up on what goes on her side and what is on mine.

Yes, it is Sunday, a day to take a walk in the park which I did not do for quite some time or perhaps enjoy the morning walk at the promenade. One place that will be crowded today is the old airport because there is big bikes show going on. Yesterday, I saw a group of guys and girls, each riding Harley Davidson. They looked so cool!

September is a month of festivals here which takes place one after another. The 9th Borneo International Kite Festival was held last week. There were many unique art pieces flying in the sky of Bintulu. I did not know Marilyn Monroe was here! Thanks to Paavan Solanki for uploading this image at demotix.com.  This is among the beautiful kites that wowed kites enthusiasts - local and international.

And this evening, there will be the Tanglung (Lantern) procession in conjunction with Lantern Festival. The esplanade is now decorated with so many types of beautiful lanterns of all sizes and shapes. Just can't wait to see the lighted lanterns!

There are quite a lot of things I would like to do today. One thing for sure, I will blog walk and enjoy interesting posts of friends. Apart from that, I am invited to three wedding receptions which I should not miss.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Sunday Scribbling

I watched "Snow White and The Huntsman" and saw elves appearing from the birds' bodies. They were two cute elves with beautiful big eyes. So cute, they looked like babies. Everything was so beautiful in Fairy Land. Butterflies arranged themselves on trees and at first sight, they looked like beautiful flowers. Even mosses turned out into something indescribably beautiful and they were alive! And the mushrooms that had eyes! Such mushrooms would never go into my soup because they are so adorable!

The beauty of Fairy Land was so captivating which could make me watched for hours and hours. If only it was real!

Life Is Beautiful

The beautiful chirpy sounds, so romantic among the fragrant flowers in a dewy morning. I could almost hear him says "I love you" to Mama Bird, followed by more cheeriness of tiny voices rising from the warm nest securely built among the branches of a shady tree. One happy family waking up for another beautiful day full of love and hope.

Speechless

when you're speechless
I'm speechless
who could blame it
breeze stops blowing
we feel the heat
but who would complain
trees standing still
like toy soldiers
no songs of birds
they lose their tunes
all seem void
until an ice-breaking
bringing back life
and sparkles in the eyes
conveying silent words
make us more speechless
how that could happen
I see me in your eyes
you see you in my eyes
does it really mirror
what lies deep within
that words could not explain
we remain speechless

- - - - - - - - - - - - -

This is nothing more than just a rambling and written based on my imagination. Actually, I was looking at my drafts which to date accumulate to 149 posts, either a quarterly done, half done, almost done or still a long way to reach the finishing line. This is among the ones I tried to complete and I think I've done it though deserve no credit. May be other posts will remain as drafts if words can't find their ways into them. Better, blame be on me!

Sweet Melody Remains Sweet

a song on air
a story recited
in rhythms of music
a soul healed
from injuries of the past
in counts of minutes
the sweet melody
erases slowly
those bad memories
the pleasant ending
touches the heart
and lives in it

--------

Today I "read" a story in a song and enjoy the good lessons in rhythms of music and beats of tempo which show the itinerary of life from grey to brightness.

Truth

sitting on a chair and it rocked
I almost fell
so finding out why
saw a part of it was dislocated
it kept me thinking
and gave me forewarning, how it would be for me one day
when age catches up, in an ageless time

This is an impromptu writing based on what I experienced early this morning when the birds were still sleeping.

If They Could Recall

In the pin drop silence of the night, sudden sounds of rain pouring,
at first just in little forms, I wanted to count them one by one
when the sounds became so beautiful -
like tiny drums' rolls the minute little droplets burst one after another upon touching the roof surface,
then they glided down the gutter and gathered as a small lively pool at the end of the road.

I started shivering when the coldness cloaked around,
did the droplets feel what I felt,
did they ever think the moment when the sun would drink them up, leaving no traces at all,
just a remembrance of where and when -
would they be shivering?

Time

Time, how it moves on with no u-turns,
It teaches us to face the bumps and potholes of life,
It would be nice leaving those gruelling moments behind,
Closed in the history of time, now open for that light -
which isn't too far away and will be reached at some time.
Time moves on and on, let's follow it and enjoy the ride!

I'm Sentimental

Today, I feel very sentimental because I have to remove this logo from my sidebar. The site doesn't exist anymore.  It shuts down permanently starting from today.

It was in the world wide web for quite some time before I discovered it. I started blogging in August 2009 but then my blog was like a ghost town. I felt there was a need to get connected with bloggers across the globe. There were a few other sites but, personally, this one had the appeal, so I joined it in August 2010. Since a member, I got to know many nice bloggers and some have become close friends since then. I loved the site for its awesomeness, for example other members could review my blog, voted my posts or wrote messages on my page, engaged in talks and lots more. I will miss it.

Thank you so much to bloggers' team for everything they had done and good luck in their future undertaking.

I bid you Adieu bloggers.com

Don't Laugh At Me

I love this video which was uploaded by broche4m3 at youtube. There are other videos of this song but I chose this one to be shared here. The messages in it are so touching. Actually, I got to know about this song,  original version sang by Mark Wills, in one of the workshops I attended last month. The lyrics teach us a lot in what life is all about and our acceptance of  its reality.

Every time I listen to songs, I appreciate the "stories" in them which in many ways touch me so deeply.  I hope it doesn't sound lame when I say some could even make me cry. Sometimes, I could relate to some of the things mentioned in them while at other times, I empathize with the real situations going on around me. Yes, "Don't Laugh At Me" because we are born different but we are all unique!

The Heart Flies With Them

Where had they gone to? Once there were white storks that used to look for big insects for the feed of the day among the short green, green grass at the end of the field. Only once in awhile, they flew for safety when there were  sounds of roaring engines' planes coming close to the airstrip at the times for landing. Like a big umbrella, they rose and flew together as a flock to one direction, keeping themselves safe from being hit by the plane. Then, they were back again landing on the same grass and carrying on their daily chores till they were full.

They came in big flock that looked like a big white sheet spread on the grass and so eye-catching from afar.  Their presence became the attraction of the town and  so popular, thus they could be found on signboards and even in concrete forms as beautiful statues which symbolize this place as a coastal town. They had occupied that piece of land for a long, long time. But as the town grew into a concrete jungle, the flocks seemed dwindling away. Any nature lover who had seen these white storks would miss them; their beautiful sight in the dewy morning and even against the orange evening rays they were very diligently making the last hunt of the day.

Survival seems inevitable on what is left and would be a rare sight  to see them even in a small group. How lonely and distress the heart of  a lone ranger stork walking the same place which had been reduced in size and which offers so little as a hunting ground.  The rest of the flocks must have ventured far till they meet a suitable place which could ensure the continuation of  the next generations. Without much of them around, it saddens one true nature lover whose heart flies with the rest who take flight to an unknown place with no promises of another paradise.
